EndlessJabber SMS offers the convenience of sending and receiving text & picture messages from the Web. This means you can text from your desktop, your laptop or even your tablet!
How to get started with EndlessJabber Android App
Getting started is super simple. Download the app to the phone in which you normally send text messages from. Then sign in with your Google account and authorize EndlessJabber. Upon entry to the app itself, you'll notice it consists of various settings screens. The default configuration is ideal for most, however, there are a few worth pointing out to perhaps change. The first is to visit the Jabber Mode tab and check Activate Jabber Mode to enable a persistent connection so messages are sent faster (mind you- they're already sent very speedy!) Also by default, the app will sync old messages which can act as a text message backup solution. In the Pro version you have unlimited storage and limited to 30 days of storage in the normal.
How to get started with EndlessJabber on the Web
Once the app it setup, you probably won't have to visit it unless settings tweaks are required. The rest is all about texting from a web browser! Simply visit from computer or tablet:
…for first time use, sign with your same Google account used with the app and authorize EndlessJabber. Alternatively you can download the Google Chrome or Firefox extensions. Thereafter you'll be greeted with a centralized and convenient interface for messaging. From the Messages screen you can compose, send, receive, delete (online only), search, and open picture messages. I thought that it was awesome to see picture messages display online without a problem. Yet video messages do not… but this is totally understandable! The next feature (Pro Version) is a Scheduler for sending messages later. Next are Contacts for quickly filtering and composing new messages. The Gallery shows only pictures from text messages you have been sent or shared. Another Pro feature are Statistics which show nifty factoids like who are the top people you chat with, message sent-to-received ratio or a breakdown by hour of day, week and year. It supports XMPP (Jabber) integration, meaning you can send text messages from your favorite chat client such as Pidgin and Trillian.
